DISTINGUISHED PERSONS

"And here I was, engaging in all this proper chicanery on my own, not knowing how much more delicious it is alongside such colorful accomplices!"
                                                    -M.H. Kaydrick

.AHMOSE UMARU.
Intrepid Explorer, Cult Specialist
After losing his family in a horrific earthquake that ravaged his native city of Cairo, a grieving Ahmose wandered the globe in search of answers. After finding out about the mysterious Gryphon Committee and their ties to the events that devastated his life, Ahmose dedicated his remaining years to ferreting out the truth about this ominous group who leaves devastation and horror in its wake. Finally believing he has pinpointed the Gryphon Committee's next target, Ahmose leads the Dirge Hill Lodge in hopes of finally settling an old score. (Pronounced Ah-Moze Oo-Maroo)

.MILES HARPER KAYDRICK.
Cunning Charlatan, Social Opportunist, A.K.A. Terrance Blackgavel
With extensive charm and extravagant taste, M.H. Kaydrick has always had a lust for the good life, and has never been above lies and usury to secure a bit of it for himself. Far above a petty, common thief (just ask him), Mister Kaydrick prefers more gentlemanly crimes than the more pedestrian variety, and serves the Rippers not out of any obligation to the forces of good, but because it is a (slightly) preferable alternative to a lifetime behind bars.

.MADEMOISELLE JOELLE JONVIER.
Parisian Performer, The Diva of Dirge Hill
The tall, willowy frame of this eclectic singer houses a truly exotic singing voice, and this import from France adds a touch of culture to the Dirge Hill Lodge. The dramatic Joelle has been entrusted with a prototypical piece of Rippertech that insures her foes do not insist on an encore. (Pronounced Jo-El Jon-Vee-Ay)

.SIMON HEGLEY.
Anxious Empath, The Bleeding Man
Few can speculate about the source of Mister Hegley's strange...gift, but the young man is seemingly prone to sudden flashes of insight and otherworldly perceptions and hunches. Disturbingly, these paranormal outbursts manifest physically on his battered skin, often times in bloody, painful displays.

.STENROW.
Groundskeeper of Carlister House, Bane to Geese
Ever-enthusiastic and spirited, the man known only as Stenrow tends to his endless duties in and around the Dirge Hill Lodge with unheard of gusto. Always accompanied by his assistant, Phyllis the St. Bernard, Stenrow sees to all menial tasks in and around Carlister House and caters to its most curious residents.

.PHYLLIS THE DOG.
Assistant Groundskeeper of Carlister House
The massive Saint Bernard known as Phyllis is always at Groundskeeper Stenrow's side, and provides her services of staring and sleeping to the Dirge Hill Lodge. Leaving her unsupervised with geese is ill-advised.

.THE LADY OF THE PAINTING.
Ever-Observant Artwork
This mysterious woman seems to be an ever-watchful presence in Carlister House, silently gazing upon all its inhabitants within its walls. When wandering the interior of Carlister House, many claim to feel another presence appraising them, and attribute such activities to the Lady of the Painting. Surely, this is just fanciful fiction...

.LOWELL SPARLAND.
Reclusive Retiree
The last surviving member of the Kent Lodge has seen his fair share of hardships, and gave several bloody years (and a few fingers) to the cause of the Rippers organization. As fate would have it, Mister Sparland took residence in the sleepy domain of Dirge Hill to live out his retirement in solitude and peace, only to have recent events bring all manner of new strangeness to the area. It seems the cranky old fellow cannot get even a moment's rest. While officially retired, Mister Sparland still lends what information and aid his battered form can to his former allies, seemingly unable to escape the ties to his adventurous past.

.THE MIDNIGHT EAGLE.
Masked Vigilante
Little is known about this mysterious American crusader, save that he operates out of Boston and traveled overseas hunting down his wily arch-nemesis, The Shuffler. With his business in England concluded (thanks to some help from the Dirge Hill Lodge), this freedom fighting fellow now lends his own efforts towards unraveling the mystery of the enigmatic Gryphon Committee.

.ARCHIBALD "ARCHY" OWENSBY.
Proprietor and Operator of the Off-Note Tavern
Friendly and well-meaning, good old Archy is a fixture of the laid back community of Dirge Hill, pouring drinks and carrying conversation with the hard-working denizens of the area. What his charming little establishment lacks in finery is more than made up for with cozy comfort and a welcoming attitude.

.BERNARD GROGWORTH.
Resident Hooligan
The only thing worse than the weather in Dirge Hill is the attitude of this particular dreg of society. Miserable, angry and inebriated, Bernard Grogworth is something of a fixture in town, where he can often be found participating in his favorite past-times of belligerence and brutality.

.PERCIVAL PINDLEHURST.
Hideous Orphan, Leader of the Binrats Gang
The last 13-year old that you'll ever want to meet in a dark alley, Percival and his rabble-gang of Binrats terrorize Dirge Hill with their juvenile pranks and general rudeness. This pint-sized kingpin has amassed a small fortune of stolen lunch money from his terrified peers.

.THURMOND NORTHCOTT.
Chief Constable of Dirge Hill
After suffering an injury in the line of duty, Thurmond Northcott decided that taking it easy would be the order of the day going forth, and he hopes to live out the remainder of his career in the sleepy peace of Dirge Hill until he can safely retire. Unluckily for him, recent events have made the area a hotbed for strange activity, and the good Chief Constable finds it increasingly more difficult to be gleefully ignorant of his surroundings with each passing day. Luckily for the Dirge Hill Lodge, this means that their investigations and activity in the area enjoy much less intrusion from local law enforcement.

.LORD EDGAR WOLFDEN.
Pride of the Exeter Lodge
Seemingly always on safari and endlessly hunting for adventure, Lord Wolfden is an influential member of the Frazer's Fighter faction. Specializing in long dead languages, Lord Edgar personally recruited Ahmose Umaru after the mysterious tragedy that claimed his family in Egypt one decade ago. Since then, the two have traversed the world and encountered all manner of dangers together. It is due to Lord Wolfden's immense personal influence that the Dirge Hill Lodge was formed.

.TILLIE FLORESCU.
Sardonic Slayer
Seemingly always suspicious and accusatory, Tillie's nocturnal activities have jaded the young Romanian into a wry and standoffish woman. As a fellow Lodge-mate to Lord Wolfden, Miss Florescu lends her singular expertise to the Dirge Hill Lodge in their investigation of the mysterious Gryphon Committee.

.DOCTOR MARTIN MULHOLLAND MELTRIGGER.
Mad Happy Scientist, Eccentric Ectoplasm Enthusiast
Always ready with a smile and a schematic, the brilliant inventor from Wales has devised a revolutionary new fuel source to power his ever-growing arsenal of wild contraptions. Hoping to harness the untapped power of Human emotion into an unlimited energy source, the wily Doctor has pledged his expansive genius and ingenuity to the Dirge Hill Lodge in exchange for their valuable aid in his field research.

.AUDREY BARROWAY.
Secret Slinging Shopkeep
An avid collector of all things (particularly local gossip), Miss Barroway runs her crowded little shop personally, tending to all matters with a meticulous eye and an ever-listening ear. Seen as a friendly font of information by some (and a relentless snoop by others), the owner of the Cluttered Purse is always up to date on the latest goings on in Dirge Hill.

.RUTHIE BLINES.
Ace Reporter for the Dirge Hill Dowager
If there's a story worth scooping, one can rest assured that the industrious snoop Ruthie Blines will be live on the scene. Ever inquisitive and eternally upbeat, the young reporter is the ever-present voice of the local newspaper, and she has dedicated her young life to bringing the truth to the masses through the printed word. Born and raised in Dirge Hill, Ruthie has a special bond with her home town, and is most proud of her sleepy surroundings. The recent explosion of strange ongoings in the region have led to record sales of the Dowager, as well as stoking the girl's infectious curiosity.
